Composition & Sound Art

I like making music! In addition to conducting and (rarely) playing bassoon, I enjoy composition. I’ve called this page “sound art” because it allows more flexibility in the categorization of the music I compose.

chrysalis // in memoriam michael gabriel (2019)

Fixed media, two channels.

Written in the Spring 2019 offering of Harvard's Music 167.

This piece was written in the Spring of 2019, for a class on electroacoustic composition taught by Hans Tutschku at Harvard. That semester, my friend Michael Gabriel tragically passed away. Michael was a phenomenal musician and a generous friend, and I continued crafting this piece in his memory.

chrysalis was premiered in May 2019, as part of the Harvard University Studio for Electroacoustic Composition’s biannual HYDRA concert series.
